Working with me makes you feel accomplished and full of self-confidence. We work together to find your voice and speak your truth.
Born overseas in Ansbach, Germany where my parents were stationed during their time in the Army. I was raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina for the majority of my life and currently split time between NC & LA. I am the middle child of three boys. My older half brother Marques and my younger brother Stephen. Growing up I had a stable and happy life, both my parents had active roles in raising me to be the man I am today.
I was a naturally-gifted athlete playing multiple sports like football, basketball, and baseball since the age of 9. Being active and competing with others was something I loved to do, I enjoyed trying to be the best at everything I did. I knew at that young age I wanted to be a professional athlete in one of those sports and as time went on I narrowed it down to football. Playing football was great for me and I thrived at it! It taught me valuable lessons that I have adopted on my journey into manhood.
Fatherhood started at an early age for me. I had my first son Ayden when I was 19. This was one of the biggest and first transitions in my life that I had to adapt to quickly. Becoming a father so young and just as I started my football career in college, was difficult to say the least. I didn't know how to be a father, manage school and football simultaneously. Football was my dream and my ticket to a better life for my child and I. Fortunately being an athlete taught me how to face difficult times head on, so although those first few years were rough, I made it work as best as I could at that time. My second son, Nickolai, came in 2015 which was another transition for me. Going from one child to two was another type of pressure that I was struggling with, but I was and still am determined to be the best dad possible.
When football ended, I lost my passion for life. I struggled with finding my purpose. I ended college with a Masters on Higher Education and an Undergrad in Human Development, but my dream of playing football was gone. I started working a corporate job to provide for my family but I just wasn't happy. I was going through the motions and living pay check to pay check. I was looking for a change. To live a more meaningful life and get my mojo back! I started putting myself out there, meeting new people. I did some serious soul searching and I began experiencing life in a different way. I found the right combination of friends and resources that brought me to where I am today. Moving to Raleigh, getting into CrossFit, back into shape and feeling healthy, reading books that inspired me, and meeting the love of my life all contributed to that.
Now I have discovered my true purpose, my calling as some would say. There were a lot of factors that led me to choose the path I'm on. It wasn't easy to arrive to it. I had to put in the work of changing my view in life, my old habits, and I had to stop feeling like I couldn't change my situation. I knew that I wanted to do something that would bring me purpose, that would help other men, athletes, fathers - help inspire them to find their version of success. Getting certified as a coach, finding my path has changed my mindset, has me vibrating at a frequency that is attracting everything I want in life, and has given me a deep passion to help other men do the same.
All these transitions have taught me how to be resilient, disciplined, and adaptable. I think about my boys and what I want for them. I want to impart everything I've learned so I can help them on the road of feeling fulfilled and happy. That is my purpose and passion as a life coach, to help guide and contribute to those who may not know where to begin or to those who having been making great progress but has hit a temporary wall. I truly believe that we are in control of our lives and we must give it our all or nothing at all.
"This is my second time being coached by Hopp, he is super open, conversational, and has good suggestions that I wouldn’t have considered. I like his coaching style of asking questions, but also jumping in with his ideas." -Kayla N.
